President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova today held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Ognen Marina, head of the Center for Advanced and Postdoctoral Research at UKIM.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the activities of the Center, which has been operational since 2023. Its main goal is to promote advanced research in the field of sustainable urban development through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Marina emphasized the significant importance of such Centers for quality education and science, presenting successful comparative experiences from EU countries as well as from neighboring countries. “The benefits of such centers are indisputable, and we should adopt good practices,” Prof. Dr. Ognen Marina stressed.
Explaining the Center’s plans, Prof. Dr. Ognen Marina also informed about the scientific seminar on “Policies” for urban development, which is scheduled to take place this year.
For her part, the President expressed her gratitude for the shared information, praised the Center’s work so far, highlighted the importance of postdoctoral research, and advocated for further capacity building to support researchers and innovation.
The interlocutors agreed that postdoctoral studies should be regulated by the Law on Higher Education
